Watershed LLP is a boutique law firm located in Oakville, Ontario, dedicated exclusively to the practice of labour relations and employment law on behalf of employers.
Watershed was formed in January 2010 by Michael Fitzgibbon and Steven Mendelssohn, two friends and senior lawyers with over 40 years of labour relations and employment law experience between them.
Watershed was born out of our disenfranchisement with the way that law was being practiced and the restrictive manner in which legal services have, historically, been delivered and priced. We believed that there was a disconnect between what clients expected and what most law firms were willing or able to offer.
Innovation was sorely needed and this could only be achieved by aligning the law firm’s business model with our clients interests and expectations.
Watershed represents our vision of the future of law firms.
Offering quality legal advice and creative and innovative solutions to our clients are the aims at Watershed – not maximizing billable hours. We take a long term view of our client relationships and work hard to deliver results. We fully recognize that businesses have options for having their legal work performed.
In the end, our unwavering commitment is to add demonstrable value at each client interaction by helping our clients navigate the increasingly complex workplace issues which they face in a practical, timely and cost effective way.
